Before her death, Qianqian Huo told them to run east.

Ye Luo and Lin An fled toward the east without looking back.

Behind them, faint animal roars and a woman’s agonized moans drifted through the air. The sounds soon faded into silence.

Ye Luo understood.

Qianqian Huo was dead.

Since entering the copy, she had witnessed many deaths. Yet Qianqian Huo’s demise was undeniably different.

Unlike the others, Qianqian Huo had chosen death of her own accord.

Ye Luo couldn’t help but wonder: if it were her, forced to join the little frog’s camp, would she choose to harm others for survival?

She didn’t know. She didn’t dare dwell on the thought.

Born with faint emotions, she nonetheless possessed a strange obsession with living. Even if life offered little pleasure, she still wanted to survive.

If she were in Qianqian Huo’s position...

Ye Luo couldn’t say whether she might become a monster.

The thought flickered only briefly.

Her gaze soon regained its indifferent calm.

She told herself: the best way is never to let herself fall into such a predicament.

As long as she kept living, kept growing stronger, one day she could live without constraint.

After Qianqian Huo was devoured, the animals began chasing them again.

Ye Luo and Lin An, hindered by the dark creatures, could not run fast. Soon, their pursuers almost caught up.

Suddenly, Lin An’s sharp eyes spotted a staff member in red beside a tree ahead.

From their experience in Monkey Mountain, the staff in red were far more reliable than those in green!

Moreover, this was the direction Qianqian Huo had directed them to. Had she known there would be a staff member in red here?

“Sister Ye,” Lin An said sadly, “Sister Huo must have wanted us to find the staff in red.”

Ye Luo pressed her lips together and strode forward, gray frog in hand.

“Are you collecting frogs? The kind that doesn’t charge a fee,” Ye Luo stated directly.

The staff member in red glanced at her, raising an eyebrow. “Only you two this time?”

Ye Luo narrowed her eyes. “Why?”

The staff member saw the reptiles slowly converging in their direction and raised an eyebrow again. “She actually died.”

“You’ve seen us before?” Ye Luo asked outright.

The staff member curled his lips. “I saw you as soon as you entered. This is the little frog’s main base—I dislike those annoying frogs. That woman among you carried a heavy frog aura; naturally, I didn’t want to meet you.”

Ye Luo’s expression shifted slightly.

Now she understood why Qianqian Huo had chosen death.

She must have known that in this venue, if she didn’t die, the staff in red would never appear.

And the true lifeline of the venue lay with the staff in red.

Therefore, to let them survive, Qianqian Huo chose to die.

“Hand over the frog,” the staff in red said, reaching out.

Ye Luo silently handed it over.

The frog stayed obedient, neither hiding nor resisting.

The animals drew ever closer.

The staff member pinched the frog, exerting slight pressure.

Instantly, the frog’s body collapsed, leaving only a skin.

With a cold sneer, the staff member lightly tapped the skin. Its color slowly shifted from gray to green.

The green skin puffed up again, transforming into a green frog.

The green frog immediately tried to leap away but was firmly caught.

The staff member said evenly, “When the frog wore that skin, its movements were restricted. Now that it’s reverted, it’s unrestricted.”

Holding the little frog, the staff member seemed pleased. “You’re lucky. Do you know what would’ve happened if you’d brought this frog to a staff member in green?”

Ye Luo narrowed her eyes.

The staff member explained calmly: “You would be replaced by the frog. The frog would wear your skin and continue to play. Your souls would be devoured by the copy, never to be freed.”

His tone was sinister, as if trying to frighten them.

Ye Luo was not scared. She simply asked, “Those who die here—their souls are devoured by the copy? If someone eventually gains full control of the copy, would the souls within belong to them?”

The staff member laughed. “Full control of the copy? If such a being existed, they’d be no different from a god. True gods are omnipotent.”

True gods are omnipotent.

Ye Luo nodded, indicating understanding.

As they lingered, the reptiles reached them.

The staff member raised an eyebrow. “With this little frog, I’ll hold off the animals briefly. You can leave now.”

Ye Luo stood her ground, unmoving.

Behind her, a python impatiently tried to coil around her.

Still, Ye Luo did not move.

The staff member looked at her in confusion.

Ye Luo spoke softly, “Just one little frog isn’t enough.”

The staff member narrowed his eyes.

Ye Luo silently took out her flashlight.

It was her third time using it.

This time, the beam shone directly onto the little frog.

Fear flashed in the frog’s eyes.

The python’s tail wrapped tightly around Ye Luo.

“Ye!” Lin An’s pupils contracted, his face terrified.

But Ye Luo managed a smile, seemingly unafraid.

The next moment, a loud crash sounded—behind transparent glass, a giant frog, wielding a massive axe, grinned broadly.

It raised the axe and struck hard.

The glass shattered. The giant frog left the plaza and arrived here!

The giant frog looked at Ye Luo, in an unprecedented good mood, and praised her, “You’re very impressive.”

“Thank you, Lord Frog, for your compliment,” Ye Luo replied calmly. “This pet paradise has more than just this one frog. I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself.”

The giant frog grinned, lightly swung its axe, and the python binding Ye Luo was chopped into several pieces.

Ye Luo stood bathed in the python’s blood, yet still wore a faint smile.

The giant frog regarded Ye Luo with curiosity.

This human was quite interesting.

“Because you marked the little frog’s location, I have ten minutes of free activity. I can smell plenty of annoying scents,” said the giant frog, and with that, it opened its mouth and swallowed the little frog whole.

With a grin, it suddenly dashed away.

Ye Luo and Lin An followed.

The giant frog moved incredibly fast. In the blink of an eye, it reached the entrance of the venue. The green-uniformed staff member was fleeing in panic, but the giant frog caught him instantly. It tapped the staff’s head, and he turned into a little frog.

The giant frog swallowed him without hesitation.

Then it sped in another direction.

This time, thanks to Ye Luo, it could feast to its heart’s content.

As the giant frog wreaked havoc throughout the pet paradise, Ye Luo and Lin An left calmly.

They had visited three venues. The pet paradise was now cleared.
