After grabbing some casual food outside, Li Yan was too lazy to even take a shower upon returning to the hotel. He simply collapsed on the bed and fell into a deep sleep.
Early the next morning, the sound of knocking came again.
Li Yan groggily opened his eyes. Could it be another reminder to check out?
Soon, he realized it must be Luo Jiashuang coming to find him.
This girl’s enthusiasm was almost overwhelming—didn’t she fear he might just drag her into the room and devour her completely?
Fortunately, he was a good person.
Half-asleep, Li Yan opened the door.
Sure enough, there stood Luo Jiashuang, her high ponytail bouncing, her bright, beautiful eyes shining at the doorway.
“Why are you up so early? Not going to sleep in?” she asked with a smile as she looked at his disheveled state.
“I couldn’t sleep, so I thought I’d come find you,” she said softly.
“Come in.” Li Yan pulled her into the room and slammed the door shut.
Luo Jiashuang’s cheeks flushed instantly.
Would something happen next?
Should she give in or not?
If she did, it would be too easy for Li Yan to get what he wanted—would he even cherish it?
Her mind spun wildly in the short moment.
Li Yan had no clue what was running through her thoughts.
He turned and lay on his stomach, saying, “You go play by yourself for a while. I’m so tired, I want to sleep a bit more.”
“Huh?” Luo Jiashuang felt insulted.
She came all dressed up to see him, and he just went straight back to sleep?
Didn’t he want anything to happen?
Men, she thought with a disdainful sigh.
Hearing Li Yan’s faint snoring, Luo Jiashuang quietly sat at the edge of the bed, her eyes flickering as she gazed at him.
“Li Yan, you know what? I’ve been thinking about you for a very long time while watching you sleep. But you ignored me back then. I admit, rejecting you then was my mistake. But I did have feelings for you—you know how much I liked you later, right?”
“You don’t know, and you told me to get some rest earlier,” he mumbled.
“It’s all your fault, you flirtatious cad. You had so many girls around you then, but you rejected me. What’s that about?”
“Hmph, you’re a jerk.”
She muttered quietly, recalling Li Yan’s behavior in their past life, feeling a surge of anger and wanting to give him a piece of her mind.
Yet seeing him sleep so peacefully, even somewhat adorable, she couldn’t help but tenderly cover him with a blanket using the hand she had wanted to scold him with.
“This is better. This time, you’re mine. If any other girls come near you again, I’ll beat up ten of them!”
Her beautiful eyes flashed with the fierce protectiveness of a mother hen.
If Li Yan saw this, he’d probably be greatly surprised.

By eleven in the morning, Li Yan slowly woke up to find Luo Jiashuang sitting beside him.
Bathed in sunlight streaming through the window, he could clearly see the fine hair on her ears and side profile—rather than being off-putting, it was rather charming.
Looking down, he noticed she was wearing a white T-shirt today, and the gentle curves beneath suggested she was quite well-proportioned.
The school uniform had simply hidden her figure.
Her slender waist and the curve of her hips, so uniquely youthful, made her even more attractive.
For a moment, Li Yan felt an urge to pull her into the bed and study her up close.
Sensing movement behind him, Luo Jiashuang turned to catch Li Yan staring intently at a certain spot.
Her cheeks flushed as she teased, “Woke up already? The sun’s shining on your butt, you lazy pig.”
Li Yan scratched his head and asked, “What time is it? Are you hungry?”
“Almost eleven thirty. Let’s get up and eat.”
“Okay, wait a moment. I’ll wash up first.”
Listening to the water running in the bathroom as Li Yan showered, Luo Jiashuang’s cheeks flushed again.
It felt as if what they had done last night was just as intimate.
“Let’s go eat, I’m starving. Do you have any recommended places?” Li Yan asked after finishing and drying his hair.
“Yes, I know a place with excellent Dai cuisine. I’ll take you there.”
Li Yan nodded. “Alright.”
After eating, the two wandered aimlessly around the city.
Luo Jiashuang was clearly happy, linking arms with Li Yan and occasionally hopping lightly.
Her youthful spirit shone unmistakably.
Li Yan’s mood was more complicated; he felt this couldn’t go on forever but wasn’t sure how to talk to Luo Jiashuang about it.
The day passed quickly.
After dropping Luo Jiashuang off at home, Li Yan walked the streets of Lin City.
At that moment, his phone rang—a call from an unknown number.
He answered cautiously.
“Hello, is this Li Yan?”
He replied with some suspicion, “Yes, who is this?”
“Oh, finally reached you. I got your number from your homeroom teacher. This is Luo Guang from the Municipal Public Security Bureau. Just calling to inform you that your bounty has been approved. Come to the bureau at nine tomorrow morning. Don’t be late—several officials will be there.”
After hanging up, Li Yan felt a surge of joy.
Five hundred thousand was finally about to come through, and a heavy weight lifted from his heart.

At that moment, his QQ messenger flashed.
It was a message from Luo Jiashuang.
“Li Yan, the homeroom teacher was asking for your number in the group chat earlier. I gave it to him. Not sure what he needs, but I sent it to him first.”
So it was Luo Jiashuang who had given out his number.
Li Yan was at a loss for words.
No wonder—this number was new today, and only Luo Jiashuang and Chen Qing’an knew it.
Suddenly, the class group chat blew up with messages.
Homeroom teacher Li Shilin posted: “Does anyone know Li Yan’s phone number? I have something to contact him about.”
Zhao Zhengzhong replied: “Teacher, I don’t think Li Yan has a phone.”
Zhang Zhuhong agreed: “Seems so.”
After a brief silence, Luo Jiashuang sent a message:
“I know. I just bought a phone with Li Yan today. Teacher, I’ll private message it to you.”
The group chat immediately exploded.
Chen Yi: “Wow, did I just discover somethingI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
