Erita fondled the large egg with her hands, seemingly very interested in Tang Jie’s current form. She completely ignored Ye Hai’s presence. The tiny queen bee’s body did not emit any overwhelming aura. Even the large egg, which was extremely sensitive and greedy for psychic energy, showed no reaction. Yet Ye Hai knew that if he was not mistaken, the girl before him was indeed Erita, the leader of the Art3 tribe. The level of evolution this queen bee had achieved must be far beyond imagination.

Suddenly, Ye Hai’s mind drifted to the countless mythical monster stories from his homeland—legends of mountain spirits and sea monsters taking human form. Now, he wondered if those seemingly absurd tales might be the result of life evolving to a very high level. However, Ye Hai had no time to ponder those ancient legends. He got straight to the point and asked, “Are you Erita?”

Perhaps because Ye Hai addressed her correctly by name, Erita looked at him in surprise. The moment her gaze shifted onto Ye Hai, he felt a prickling pain all over his body. Those pitch-black, emotionless eyes sent a chill through his heart. She twitched her nose slightly. After a brief moment of recollection, a faint smile appeared at the corner of Erita’s mouth.

“It’s that peculiar scent. I thought it was coming from Tang Jie!” she said. “Are you the eyeball-covered monster who appeared recently in the radiation zone?”

Ye Hai silently cursed himself, thinking, “What kind of monster do I look like to you?” Nonetheless, he nodded obediently, while cautiously preparing for any attack from Erita. If she struck, he would have to fight for his life.

Yet after confirming Ye Hai’s identity, Erita seemed to lose all interest in him. She turned and leapt out of the hollow, leaving behind a brief command: “Take good care of Tang Jie…” Then she vanished swiftly through the sea serpent’s broken entrance.

“???” Ye Hai was left baffled. Considering the fierce confrontations they had experienced—though “fierce” was a subjective term from Ye Hai’s perspective—Erita appeared completely indifferent to the fate of the mutants. However, the queen bee’s lack of hostility toward him puzzled Ye Hai.

Art2 had managed to fuse human and spider genes to create psychic beings. When Ye Hai first encountered Tang Jie, he was obviously a product of that fusion. Since both Art2 and Art3 tribes possessed such technology, logically, Erita and Lilith should share the same attitude toward humans. Yet why did Erita show no interest in humans?

While Ye Hai was lost in thought, Asli’s anguished cries echoed from afar.

“Damn it… Erita!”

“You… you actually succeeded?”

“Damn it, damn it, damn it…”

“You’re just a lowly experimental subject. Why?”

“Why did you step into the next stage before me?”

Ye Hai heard no response from Erita toward Asli, but he knew clearly that Asli was no match for Erita. Perhaps Erita’s presence here was solely due to the Psychic Alliance’s affairs. Ye Hai dared not linger, even though Erita had not shown much hostility toward him. The spider queen’s methods toward humans were extremely cruel, so it was better to make a swift exit.

With that in mind, Ye Hai controlled the sea serpent to dive into the mud, swiftly swimming toward the territory of the corpse catchers.

Erita gazed faintly at Asli, the water-being before her, showing no trace of emotion. Behind Erita, the spider queen Lilith obediently crawled, demonstrating her submission.

Asli shouted angrily, “Erita, don’t get cocky…”

“Next time, those big shots will come here!”

“You won’t be safe even in the radiation zone.”

“Hehehehe!”

“I look forward to seeing you beg in pain next time!”

Suddenly, Asli’s body emitted a fierce light, psychic energy violently surging out. The spider queen was momentarily stunned and quickly stood up, intending to shield Erita from harm.

But Erita extended a single hand and lightly pointed toward Asli. The wild psychic energy was immediately suppressed and sucked back into Asli’s body. The explosion was effortlessly interrupted.

Asli howled hysterically, his voice filled with terror.

“What… what did you do to me?”

“Why… why can’t I feel the psychic energy inside me anymore?”

Unlike Asli’s shock, Lilith felt astonished. In terms of strength, Asli was superior to her. If not for him having split much of his power chasing Donald, Lilith would have had no chance. Initially, Lilith planned to stall under the caves until Erita arrived for backup. But Ye Hai’s intrusion with the essence gatherers forced her to change plans. Using the large egg’s ability to absorb psychic energy, she tricked Asli and greatly weakened him.

Even so, Lilith was not confident she could keep Asli alive. Yet such a powerful member of the Psychic Alliance was so easily stripped of his psychic power by Erita. Lilith did not know how she did it, but she was certain it must be the result of surpassing some genetic limit.

At that moment, Lilith recalled the words of the leader of the Ary1 tribe: “Our tribe’s only hope for survival rests on Erita…”

Lilith had never understood before, and still did not fully grasp it now. But in this moment, she believed.

Perhaps only such power could truly contend with the terrifying entities of the Psychic Alliance.

With a light snap of her fingers, Erita caused Asli to explode instantly. This time, he could no longer separate any droplets of water; his body was completely annihilated.

Asli roared furiously, “Erita… you destroyed my psychic body…”

“Damn experimental subject, you pest!”

“When the big shots of the Psychic Alliance awaken again, you will die in the most miserable way… you will!”

After finishing, Erita turned her head in puzzlement.

“So weak…”

“Is this the Psychic Alliance that chased you around the world?”

“But why can I still hear him speak even after he’s dead?”

Lilith was momentarily stunned, then respectfully said,

“Queen Erita… you are too powerful. Although Asli was not a top-tier figure in the Psychic Alliance…”

“Of the other eleven leaders of our tribe, only three can reliably surpass Asli.”

“However, the people of the Psychic Alliance are immortal!”

“After their psychic bodies are destroyed, their consciousness returns to the psychic network to slumber…”

“When they accumulate enough psychic energy, they will be reborn again!”

“That is what makes them truly terrifying.”

Erita smiled faintly.

“So those crisscrossing lines in the sky… are called the psychic network?”

“Interesting things!”

Hearing this, Lilith was amazed and exclaimed excitedly,

“You… you can see the psychic network with the naked eye?”

Erita nodded, then slightly narrowed her eyes and looked up at the sky. Suddenly, a pair of bee wings over two meters long sprouted from her back. She surged upward and hovered in the air.

Blue light flared in her hands, forming a faint glowing orb. She held the orb level before her. Lilith saw that the orb seemed to encounter something invisible to the naked eye. Yet she clearly heard Asli’s agonized screams filled with pain.

Then Erita crushed the orb with force. A huge pulse erupted from the sky, but the flash of energy caused no damage. Nevertheless, Lilith was overjoyed.

“Asli is dead…”

“Truly dead… his consciousness completely annihilated!”

“He can never return to this world.”

“The myth of the immortal Psychic Alliance is shattered…”

“Erita… the hope of our tribe…”

In the volcanic cluster at the far west of Zombie Star, a massive volcano comparable to Olympus Mons on Mars suddenly erupted. Scorching lava and towering ash clouds shot thousands of meters into the sky.

Amidst the river of molten rock flowing upward, a figure emerged, disregarding the intense heat and the torrent of lava.

“Asli’s consciousness is completely annihilated…”

“He failed to return to the psychic network!”

“What happened during my slumber?”

“East side?”

“Strange…”

“If Asli’s consciousness is truly annihilated, why can I still sense his psychic aura?”

“Perhaps I should go and see for myself!”

With that, the figure melded into the lava, blending with the environment.

“Dr. Broly!”

“We’ve received some combat footage uploaded from Kobayashi’s experimental mech on Chaos Star…”

“I think you’ll find it very interesting!”

Deep beneath the frozen planet far from Zombie Star in the Leviathan system, inside a scientific laboratory, a fiery-haired beauty in a white lab coat pushed open the door to Dr. Broly’s office.

The office was a mess, scattered with all sorts of mech design blueprints. Behind the only desk, a scruffy middle-aged man poked his head up from the towering piles of papers, looking exhausted.

“Oh! It’s Garo!”

“Kobayashi from Chaos Star?”

“What mech did he take from me?”

“But no matter what, the stuff sent to Chaos Star is always quite outdated!”

“Besides, using mechs to slaughter ordinary soldiers is really boring!”

The woman smiled faintly.

“No, this time it’s different!”

“You’ll be greatly surprised!”

Lately, working overtime late, may not keep up with updates…

If there are any delays, they will be made up over the weekend!
