Chapter Forty-Eight: Javier Erupts

“So that thing is called the T-virus solution?”
“I actually have no idea what happened…”
“It’s just that when I gradually regained consciousness from my coma, I suddenly felt someone inject a needle into my kidney!”
“Afterwards, my whole body felt as if it was on fire…”
“Uh! No, fire might not even be enough to describe that sensation.”

Hearing Javier’s explanation, Joe felt a bit confused.
He patted his pocket to confirm that the T-virus solution Ye Hai had given him was still there.
What puzzled him even more was that the T-virus did not possess the ability to regenerate lost limbs.
Of all the viruses Joe knew, only the original Veronica strain and the G-virus had such powers.

What exactly was injected into Javier’s body?
And that injection into the kidney—a move both unfamiliar and strangely familiar!
Among the corpse catchers, with Liana’s injection into her foot, everyone had a different injection site.
Javier had been jabbed in the kidney…
That style? Could it be the old master?
Joe thought only Ye Hai would do such an odd thing.
But if Ye Hai wasn’t dead, then where was he?
And what was the virus injected into Javier’s body?
While pondering, Joe’s injuries from the earlier explosion had mostly healed.
He got up from the ground and saw the Crystal Queen Bee slowly rising into the sky again.
Before Joe could warn anyone,
Javier, with his back to the Queen Bee, pursed his lips and said, “This thing is really persistent, all sorts of strange abilities keep appearing, and even losing a third of its abdomen didn’t have much of an effect!”
Joe was a bit surprised, “You can see what’s behind you?”
Javier shrugged and replied, “Just now, something seemed to sprout from the back of my head, giving me a view behind me…”
“This panoramic vision… it’s wonderful, but hard to describe…”

After speaking, Javier turned to face the Queen Bee.
Joe was shocked to see an eyeball appear on the back of Javier’s neck.
“Is this… the old master’s G-virus?”
“When was it extracted and injected into Javier?”
“And this guy… actually managed to withstand the G-virus, which is even more violent than Veronica…”
Joe suddenly recalled that Javier, as a third-stage mutant, would suffer severe injuries from the recoil of the antimatter shield cannon.
Yet just now, Javier had used an antimatter light shield and an antimatter shoulder cannon without any noticeable effect.
Joe asked, “You can already withstand the recoil from the antimatter mech?”
Javier didn’t turn his head, but the eyeball behind his neck stared intently at Joe.
“From the look on your face, it seems something impressive has appeared on the back of my head…”
“As for the recoil issue with the antimatter mech…”
“Indeed, as you expected, when I lower the output power to about 5%, my bones and muscle tissue still suffer some tearing and fractures…”
“But thanks to my extraordinary regenerative abilities, I can almost instantly repair these minor injuries… So, I can keep using both components in battle!”
With that, Javier flicked his left hand and the light shield appeared before him once more.
He darted forward, charging straight at the Queen Bee.
Liana activated her powers at the same time, sprawled her vines across the ground, and followed Javier in attacking the Crystal Queen Bee.
“Mr. Joe, please take care of Mr. Zella. I still need to retrieve my family from him!”
Joe was dumbfounded…
It wasn’t that he didn’t understand, it was just that the world was changing too fast.
Since entering the radiation zone yesterday, he had been the undisputed main force.
Javier and Liana hadn’t been able to stand up to him with just one hand!
Now, suddenly, his role had changed.
In the battle against the Crystal Queen Bee, Joe had been relegated to taking care of the wounded.
Watching the two already engaged with the Queen Bee, Joe felt a complicated mix of emotions…
Javier’s return, now able to withstand the recoil of the antimatter mech, displayed a combat strength that left everyone in awe.
For a moment, even Liana was reduced to a support role.
“Liana, send me into the air!”
At Javier’s command, a vine hurled him skyward, placing him at the Queen Bee’s flank.
After using the light shield to deflect a beam attack from the Queen Bee,

He fired another shot at the Queen Bee.
But this time, the Queen Bee didn’t get hit.
Her body twisted nimbly in the air,
And in an instant, she darted right up to Javier and bit down hard.
At the same time, she activated her psychic powers, directly restraining Javier.
It was Javier’s first encounter with psychic abilities; though intrigued, he showed no panic.
“Liana, pull me down!”
Instantly, a vine wrapped around him, and Javier plummeted headfirst toward the earth.
The Queen Bee missed her bite, and a beam cannon shot at Javier,
But Javier, falling, countered it with a shot.
Then Liana appeared suddenly, her blood splashing onto the Queen Bee’s body again—the explosion tore off a small section of the Queen Bee’s wing.
“That strange force field seems to be more effective at restraining energy within it, but when it comes to physical objects, it only prevents movement inside… it can’t stop things coming in from outside!”
“Also, after the Queen Bee uses her force field to restrain someone, she never attacks from a distance with energy…”
“Probably because external energy attacks would destabilize the force field!”
“This can be exploited!”
As the Second Corps Commander of the First Defense Army of the Giant Tree Star, Javier had the richest combat experience among those present.
After a brief exchange, he immediately spotted some weaknesses in the psychic force field.
He shouted to Liana, “Liana, attack the front—don’t panic if you get restrained!”
Though she didn’t understand what Javier was planning, Liana, with little combat experience, chose to follow his instructions.
As she was hurled toward the Queen Bee, she was indeed restrained.
The Queen Bee moved fast, darting to Liana’s side, and just as her jaws were about to snap off Liana’s head—
Javier, using the vines, broke into the psychic field, suddenly appearing behind Liana.
He planted his feet on Liana’s shoulders,
Aimed his cannon right at the Queen Bee’s open maw, and laughed teasingly,
“Care for a smoke, bug?”
Boom—
The shot blasted through the Queen Bee’s skull!
