Chapter 25: Suppression, Emotions Unleashed
In the endless river of loneliness, the emotions suppressed for so long finally burst forth, like a cask of aged wine exploding in a sudden moment. Li Chao stood beneath the sunlight, his determination and courage shining so brilliantly that I felt a sense of awe. His figure was etched deep into my heart, indelibly marked. Perhaps it was the wondrous magic of alcohol that made feelings surge like a flood breaking through its banks. Amidst this storm of emotion, I felt an unprecedented fiery sensation, the defenses of reason crumbling away. I longed desperately to immerse myself in this feast of emotion with Li Chao, hoping his love would dispel the chill and emptiness deep within me.
This yearning spread like wildfire, growing ever stronger and impossible to contain. What I clung to was not merely softness, but the warmth Li Chao gave and his tangible presence. My body and soul trembled, as if surrounded by thunder and lightning, oblivious to the fact that the medical supply bag in my hand had quietly slipped away.
"Chao, let me fall just this once!"
Liu Dan's voice was gentle and alluring, like the music of the heavens, stirring the strings of my heart. Her hair was as smooth as silk, brushing lightly against my neck and sending tingles through me. Her eyes shone with longing for love and release, sparkling like the brightest stars in the night sky. Though Liu Dan was a married woman, the shackles of her marriage suffocated her. Her husband was often absent, as if vanished, leaving her emotional world desolate. The loneliness and solitude buried deep in her heart could only be understood by herself.
At this moment, Li Chao could no longer restrain the impulse within him. He embraced Liu Dan tightly, as if wanting to merge her into himself. Their heartbeats intertwined like drumbeats in a symphony, fierce and powerful, playing together the rhapsody of passion. "Sister!" Li Chao's voice was low and hoarse, like autumn leaves falling, carrying a hint of desolation as it spilled from his throat. His body seemed drawn by an invisible force, trembling involuntarily, as if wanting to break free from all restraints and become a demon in the night.
The air around them seemed to sense the aura emanating from him, growing heavy and oppressive. That aura was wild and primal, sweeping through like a gale across the wilderness, carrying irresistible strength that inspired awe. Liu Dan, usually gentle as water and graceful, now also felt the intense energy radiating from Li Chao. Her heartbeat quickened, as if countless small drums were beating within her chest. The sensation was strange, like thousands of ants crawling freely inside her, making every inch of her skin itch unbearably.
She slowly raised her head, her eyes once full of tender affection now shining with unusual resolve.
She gazed intently at Li Chao—the man she loved deeply—and called to him in a voice so soft it seemed woven from silk, "Chao!" The call was filled with boundless tenderness and unwavering determination.
"I know you want me just as much."
Her words were gentle and quiet, yet struck Li Chao's soul like a heavy hammer. She seemed to possess the ability to see into another's soul, clearly understanding his deepest desires.
"This moment belongs to us alone."
Her tone carried a hint of teasing and encouragement.
"Don't be afraid. Be brave and pursue what you want."
"Forget all distractions!"
Her voice suddenly turned serious and solemn, like thunder exploding beside Li Chao's ear. He shuddered, his once confused gaze becoming clear.
"Right now, you need only to feel, to savor this fleeting joy."
Her voice sounded again, now full of endless softness and seduction, like an invisible hand gently caressing Li Chao's spirit.
"Let us immerse ourselves together, and freely mingle."
Her voice grew softer still, as if it could pierce through space and time, reaching deep into Li Chao's soul. With a tone bordering on obsession, she invited Li Chao to step into a world belonging to just the two of them. In this world, there was no worldly chaos, no constraints of ethics or morality, only their bodies and souls intertwined and colliding.
The night was thick as ink, impenetrable;
Starlight was sparse, scattered across the distant sky.
The deep forest path resembled a mysterious corridor, seemingly hiding countless untold stories.
Every word Liu Dan spoke was like a gentle breeze brushing Li Chao's cheek, yet within his tranquil heart, waves were surging. He had always believed his heart to be as deep and quiet as the night, but before Liu Dan's gentle affection, his supposed resilience began to waver.
Li Chao, a man wandering alone on the edge of the bustling world, knew well he was not a revered gentleman of the halls, but maintained his own boundaries and principles deep within. Facing Liu Dan, he could understand her impulse as a sincere expression of feeling. Yet her status was a chasm impossible to cross, like heavy iron chains binding them, leaving them gasping for air.
In Liu Dan's eyes, confusion and lucidity tangled together; as she gazed at Li Chao, the expectation and unease in her gaze seemed to gather into a powerful force.
She asked softly,
"Chao, do you despise me, your sister?"
Her faint voice carried a hint of self-mockery and deep helplessness.
Li Chao slowly shook his head, his gaze as piercing and profound as a torch, seeming to penetrate the endless darkness and discern the truth hidden behind the night mist. He replied, deep and resolute,
"It's not that! There's a barrier in my heart I can't cross, no matter how hard I try!"
His words held infinite struggle, yet hinted at a resolute finality.
Upon hearing this, the tide of impulse within Liu Dan gradually receded. She knew well that Li Chao's inner world possessed unbreakable boundaries and a steadfast conviction. She smiled slightly, her smile charming and tender, growing more alluring under the night.
She straightened her clothes, and walked side by side with Li Chao, heading toward the village together.
Yet,
Neither noticed that on the road behind them, several figures were stumbling closer.
These were Li Ma and his group of dubious friends.
Their eyes were glazed with drunkenness and intense curiosity.
One pointed ahead at the fading silhouettes and asked, puzzled,
"Ma, look at those two—isn't that Li Chao and Liu Dan?"
Li Ma squinted, scrutinized for a moment, then flashed a sly grin:
"Ha! That's them, all right! Looks like we're in for quite a show tonight!"
His words were full of barely contained excitement and anticipation, as if he already foresaw the farce about to unfold before them.
