“Is that so?” Xie Yuhuai scrutinized Yu Zi from head to toe, his eyes filled with skepticism.

Though provoking someone like this was foolish, it was undeniably effective.

Sure enough, Yu Zi’s fighting spirit was ignited; she no longer responded to Xie Yuhuai’s words and instead strode directly toward the original private room.

“Didn’t Xie Yuhuai say he wouldn’t come? What on earth is going on?”

“Judging by how they looked just now, could they have gotten into a fight?”

“This is terrifying. Maybe we should go check now? Hopefully nothing serious has happened.”

Standing at the door of the private room, Yu Zi faintly heard voices coming from inside.

Her lips twitched slightly. In such a short time, these people had almost turned the scene into a murder investigation; it was truly frightening.

She tidied her clothes and then pushed the door open and entered.

Before she could speak, Su Qing immediately rushed up to her and inspected her from head to toe.

Only then did she speak apologetically.

“Sorry, Zi, I really don’t know what happened. I knew I called Xie Yuhuai, and he still said he wouldn’t come.”

Su Qing truly felt guilty.

After all, Yu Zi had agreed to come largely out of respect for her, under the assumption that Xie Yuhuai wouldn’t show up.

She never expected to run into him by chance. This was all her fault.

Though Yu Zi initially felt a little uncomfortable, upon seeing Su Qing’s genuine ignorance, all those minor grievances vanished like smoke.

“Forget it. It’s not a big deal. Even if we don’t see each other today, we’ll meet sooner or later.”

“Besides, I don’t want anyone to think I’m here because I’m still hung up on him. That would be too humiliating.”

Just then, someone who had seen Xie Yuhuai enter quickly added that last remark.

Xie Yuhuai shot her a deep look but said nothing, silently entering the private room and choosing a seat alone.

“Senior, have you and the senior sister made up?”

She tentatively asked, hoping to sit beside Xie Yuhuai.

At that moment, Xie Yuhuai’s close friend walked over and sat directly beside him, laughing as he draped an arm over his shoulder.

“You little rascal, be honest — what exactly did you say to Yu Zi just now? How did she suddenly become so obedient?”

“As your good brother, don’t say I’m unloyal. When Su Qing asked me if you were coming, I was dead certain you wouldn’t. That’s why Yu Zi agreed to come.”

Upon hearing this, Xie Yuhuai’s aura visibly darkened.

He sneered coldly, grabbed the wine on the table, and downed it in one gulp.

His friend was about to press for more details but, seeing his mood, decided against it.

He pursed his lips and muttered softly, “Cheapskate... forget it, I won’t ask. Look, Yu Zi is coming over. What do you say? Should I help Yu Zi find a seat?”

At these words, Xu Nuo, who had been standing nearby without a reply, suddenly spoke.

“Thanks, Brother Qin. Someone took my seat, and I don’t really know the others here. May I sit here?”

Qin Yue looked up at Xu Nuo and smiled but said nothing.

Instead, as Yu Zi approached, he suddenly pulled her over and stood up, placing her in the seat originally occupied by Xie Yuhuai—right next to him.

“There’s an empty seat here. It seems you two didn’t finish your conversation earlier. I’m just making things convenient for you. No need to be polite.”
