Chapter 104: Elijah
Inside the bamboo hut, Gedda snapped his eyes open, his face bleak and dark. He had not expected to fail again—this time to a handful of boys barely out of childhood.
“Little Gedda, from that face, it seems you’ve failed at something again.”
A mocking voice suddenly echoed through the hut. Geda turned to look. By the window stood a green silhouette, the wind lifting long strands of green hair and revealing ears sharper and longer than those of an ordinary person.
As if sensing Geda’s gloomy stare, the green figure slowly turned. A still handsome, youthful face with Geda’s familiar, teasing smile came into view.
“It’s been a long time, little Gedda. Have you missed me?”
In the next instant, that pretty face was right before him: Ilia’s green body lay across his lap, two pale arms entwining his neck, her enticing red lips opening and closing.
“Ilia, you still smell exactly as you did.”
A bright glint flashed through his eyes, a crooked smile tugging at Geda’s mouth. He lowered his head, brushed the tip of his nose over Ilia’s pointed ears, closed his eyes, took a deep breath, then murmured, drunk on the scent.
“Little Geda, you’re just as wicked as ever. Too bad you’ve grown old, eh?”
Her fingertips brushed lightly over the wrinkles on Geda’s face. Ilia smiled up at him, her eyes filling for a moment with many scenes before hardening into deep resentment.
“Old, am I? Well then, Ilia, why don’t you try?”
A rough hand slid over the exquisite green robes and down to his waist, then gently rubbed there. Geda, smiling still, looked at the still-young body in his arms, marveling at the vitality of elven life while his hunger to reach the Holy Domain burned even hotter.
“Ge—”
The moment she was about to speak, another mouth suddenly covered his own; a rough, broad hand enveloped his groin, and in the same instant a nimble tongue worked open his teeth and surged into his mouth, stirring up a storm.
“Ho ho. Are you frightened?”
He touched the bite on his lip and watched Ilia glide back to the window, his smile richer.
“Hmm. Geda, you saw me break into the half-step Holy Domain—aren’t you afraid too? Otherwise why would you use such an old trick?”
Ilia glanced at Geda, pausing a heartbeat at the wound she had bitten, then spoke, her expression a knot of emotions.
“An old trick, heh? Ilia, I just used this old trick on a virgin—a boy younger and finer than you. He may be the New-Blood King of this term. He was far more enjoyable than you were thirty years ago, and he’s stronger than the you from those days as well.”
With a chuckle, Geda leaned half against the bed behind him, revealing what had already risen beneath him, and with a mocking look at Ilia, spoke again.
“Huh, this time you broke the Fallen Academy’s rule. They ordered your spirit and mana sealed for a year, and I’m the one who enforces that order!”
With a cold snort, Ilia pulled forth a green scroll. Before Geda could open his mouth, she tore it open; a green flash flashed and shot into his mind.
“Little Geda, right now you have no strength to resist. What do you think I’ll do next?”
She lifted his chin with a teasing finger and, while still smiling wickedly, slowly undid her green garments. A still white, faintly thin body slowly appeared before him.
“Ilia, you’ve maintained yourself well. But I wonder, who has the better scent—you or Wang Luo?”
His face darkened for a breath, then he returned to himself with sudden force, grabbed Ilia and slammed her to the ground, pinning her hard. He smiled faintly and began to feast.

Whimpering...
Chattering...
In the forest, the wild boar with protruding tusks and the little black monkey ran freely behind Wang Luo, grunting and chirping, bouncing and leaping in giddy delight. The woods were their home.
Suddenly both the boar and the monkey stopped and stared about them, bewildered. Just then they realized Wang Luo’s figure had shimmered and vanished.
Bang—
A heavy thud sounded from the trees behind. The boar and monkey spun back just in time to see Wang Luo hurled backward, the bone sword still in his hand.
“Wang Luo, I’m sorry for last night, but you know it was Gedda. With Gedda under investigation by the Fallen Academy, he has no time to keep an eye on me. This is my only chance. Wang Luo, stop and let me explain!”
As Wang Luo charged again, Qier’s face was full of panic. She defended against his attacks as she spoke.
“I’m telling you the truth. Gedda has laid a magical seal on my soul; every move I make is under his control. I can feel he has no strength left to supervise me now. This is my only chance.”
Ignoring her, Wang Luo let the blood-red light on his bone sword thicken as he drove his attacks harder and faster, casting the Shadow Wraith discipline to the very limit of what he could summon.
“Wang Luo, you are no match for me. Stop now. I don’t have time.”
She parried his onslaught casually yet anxiously spoke over it. If she failed to explain now, she knew their cooperation might end forever.
“Wang Luo!”
Seeing he would not relent, Qier shouted once. A ribbon of scarlet vapour spilled out, curved neatly around the bone sword, and shot directly toward Wang Luo’s body.
“Hmph.”
The red mist struck at once and gave him no chance to resist. It entered him without hesitation. Wang Luo’s movements jerked violently, and he gave a harsh growl before his eyes flashed with killing intent, fixed on Qier.
“You’d better not resist. The faster your blood moves, the faster the Bewildering Qi spreads. You know what that means.”
Wang Luo paid her no heed. He sat down cross-legged and began his inner practice, transmuting the Bewildering Qi from Qier, for he did not want to suffer that effect again.
Whimpering...
Chattering...
The boar and monkey, who had been unable to get close before, rushed to Wang Luo’s side and shielded him behind them, glaring fiercely at Qier.
“Wang Luo, everything I did was to save my sister, Mir. Gedda has used Mir to force me to do his work, using the Fox-Merchant Form to help him break into the Holy Domain!”
“I am one of the mutated Fox-Merchant Forms. The form’s charm must be directed toward a man, but I am a man myself, so I can never entice my own kind. I thought once Gedda knew this he would have let me go, but I did not expect—”
At this, Qier cast a complex glance at Wang Luo, who was still working to absorb the Bewildering Qi. It was the first time in years he had laid himself bare to another person. What he had held in his heart these years was truly painful, truly exhausting.
