Chapter 112: Soul Soothing
Within the milky white liquid, two bare bodies entwined fiercely, sending up splashes of white foam as pure spiritual energy dissipated into the air.
Suddenly, both bodies shuddered violently, their movements momentarily faltering before surging with even greater intensity. The white liquid churned ceaselessly, but its thickness obscured any clear view of their lower bodies’ motions.
“Ah… Luo’er, my dear Luo’er, don’t stop, ah…”
Lewd, insistent moans slipped from half-open crimson lips. The face, one that could stir envy in any woman, wore an expression of profound pleasure and lascivious ecstasy. Clearly, he had not felt such delight for a long time; now, his desires stirred, driven deep by a certain rod...
Compared to the splashing in this pool, the other pools were eerily silent. Only a boy clad in a dusty yellow mage’s robe furrowed his brows in pain, as if forcing himself to endure something unbearable.
Yet, compared to the youths scattered throughout the forest, this boy was fortunate. Sometimes, death itself is not the worst—what terrifies most is the waiting. The boys in the forest were now being relentlessly reaped by the unstoppable shadow of death, their lives slipping away step by step.
In the forest, groups of youths gathered cautiously, their eyes scanning the surroundings, faces pale with dread. Only now did they truly understand the meaning of a real trial. The Trial of the Forest had seemed like child’s play before, for none had been in genuine mortal danger. But now, everything was different.
“Ah—”
A streak of black light flashed past, followed by a piercing scream. All eyes turned toward the source, where a face twisted by terror yet touched with a hint of relief appeared. A chill gripped every heart, and the groups instinctively drew closer together.
In contrast to this cluster of youths, another team appeared somewhat more relaxed. Though they too faced the threat of death, repeated encounters shortened the intervals between casualties. Their cooperation grew ever tighter.
A dazzling, multicolored light shield enveloped the youths. Protected by young warriors, the young mages within continuously channeled magical energy into the barrier, maintaining its strength.
Yet, youthfulness betrayed them; their magical reserves were insufficient. One by one their faces turned pale, but faint smiles of survival flickered, for they had just repelled an attack of black light.
“Next wave of mages, step up! Keep pouring in magic power! Warriors, guard the mages outside and hunt down any approaching beasts! Rotate shifts! Don’t lose heart—we will hold on until the end!”
A youth in a cyan mage’s robe replaced another at the forefront, shouting encouragement with a serious expression. He knew they could not hold out long, but there was no alternative.
“Pril is right. If we unite, we’ll overcome this trial together!”
At his words, Abigail on the perimeter echoed enthusiastically, a silly grin flashing as he glanced at a fiery red figure beside him, elicitingI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
