Chapter 51: Someone You Can't Afford to Offend
Mo Han let out a sigh as he saw the anticipation and pleading in Li Xiande’s eyes, and could only nod in agreement. Although he very much wanted to see the Li family destroyed for good, at this point, he understood Li Xiande’s feelings and didn’t want to leave him with regrets for the rest of his life. If it were him and Jiang Zhizhong, no matter how Jiang had treated him, he couldn’t simply disregard the man who had raised him.
“I’ll let the Li family go this time, but you must honestly transfer the pharmaceutical factory to An’an. If you try any more tricks, I’ll make sure your family disappears from Qiancheng forever!” Mo Han said coldly.
“No more tricks, I swear! This time I truly want to transfer the factory to you,” Li Zhendong replied in a hurry, immediately instructing Li Xianwu to have the legal department draft the transfer contract on the spot.
An hour later, all the formalities were completed, and the pharmaceutical factory returned to Li An’an’s hands. This time, Mo Han was certain Li Zhendong wouldn’t dare play games with him again. He then called Ding Si, asking him to call off any actions against the Li family.
Only after Mo Han hung up did Li Zhendong and Li Xianwu finally breathe easy and leave the villa on the mountaintop. After today, they knew very well that their relationship with Li Xiande’s family had come to an end.
Although Xu Fang felt a little displeased inside, she only sighed and didn’t reproach Li Xiande further. After all, having been married for decades, she understood him well.
“Mo Han, I’m sorry. When I was five, I lost both my parents and wandered the streets. I almost froze to death that day, and it was he who brought me back to the Li family. No matter how he’s treated me, I owe him my life and a father’s kindness,” Li Xiande said, looking at Mo Han.
“Dad, you made the right choice. I support you. After this, I doubt they’ll dare harbor any more ill will toward our family,” Mo Han comforted him, his eyes reflecting sympathy. Li Xiande might seem old-fashioned, but he was genuine—a man who always repaid kindness. That was what made a true man.
Li Xiande nodded gratefully, but in his heart, he had made his break. From this day forward, he had nothing more to do with the Li family or Li Zhendong.
…
As soon as Li Zhendong and Li Xianwu returned to the Li Group building, a young man approached them.
“Tell me where Mo Han is!” Yu Xiao’s gaze was icy as he looked at Li Xianwu and Li Zhendong.
The two didn’t know Yu Xiao, but seeing the murderous glint in his eyes, the seasoned Li Zhendong immediately guessed he was an enemy of Mo Han, most likely here for revenge.
“You’re looking for Mo Han? He’s at the villa on the summit of Wangtian Peak—that villa is his,” Li Zhendong replied, a flash of malice in his eyes.
“Old man, are you courting death?” Yu Xiao seized Li Zhendong by the collar and lifted him effortlessly off the ground.
Li Zhendong’s face went pale; he had no idea what he’d said wrong.
Li Xianwu hastened to explain, “Sir, my father is telling the truth. We just came from the villa. Mo Han is definitely there.”
Without another word, Yu Xiao slapped Li Xianwu, sending him flying.
“Mo Han is just a live-in son-in-law in your family. Your family can’t even afford a villa on Wangtian Peak—what makes him so special? Tell me where he really is, or I’ll snap your neck!” There was a deadly glint in Yu Xiao’s eyes as he spoke.
“He really is at the mountaintop villa. That villa isn’t ours—the Chen family gave it to someone else, who then passed it on to him. If you don’t believe me, I can take you there myself!” Li Zhendong managed to say with difficulty.
Yu Xiao stared into Li Zhendong’s eyes for a few seconds before releasing him. “If you dare trick me, I’ll send you straight to hell when I return!” he sneered before leaving the Li Group building.
“Dad, that man must be Mo Han’s enemy, right?” Li Xianwu asked, climbing to his feet and clutching his face.
Li Zhendong gazed in the direction Yu Xiao had disappeared, his eyes flashing coldly. He could see clearly that Yu Xiao’s intentions toward Mo Han were anything but friendly. Compared to being threatened, he much preferred that Yu Xiao go and dispose of Mo Han.
Everything that had happened to them was entirely thanks to Mo Han. Without him, how could they have lost the pharmaceutical factory again? Not to mention paying Xu Biao a hundred million.
Only if Mo Han died would he finally feel at peace.
…
Mo Han’s family was having dinner when suddenly a chilling aura swept in. Mo Han set down his chopsticks and stood up.
The other three looked at him. Mo Han said, “You keep eating—I’ll step outside for a moment.”
They nodded without question.
Mo Han exited the villa and immediately saw a young man step out of an Audi.
“So you’re the one who crippled Qin Haoran?” Yu Xiao stared at Mo Han, radiating murderous intent.
Mo Han sized up Yu Xiao and instantly deduced his identity.
“That’s right. Come for revenge?” Mo Han sneered.
“You’ve got guts. Do you realize what a grave mistake you’ve made?” Yu Xiao’s eyes narrowed.
Mo Han said nothing. A vicious light flashed in Yu Xiao’s eyes as he sneered, “Because of your mistake, you and your entire family will pay a terrible price.”
With that, he struck suddenly, reaching for Mo Han’s shoulder.
A murderous light flickered in Mo Han’s eyes. He didn’t care about threats against himself, but threatening his family—that was courting death!
The moment Yu Xiao made his move, Mo Han did as well, seizing Yu Xiao’s wrist with a deadly grip.
“Let go!” Yu Xiao was surprised; he hadn’t expected Mo Han to be able to catch him. He was so fast, few could react in time.
With his right hand caught, Yu Xiao balled his left into a fist and swung at Mo Han’s face.
Mo Han raised his right hand and punched back.
Bang!
Their fists collided with such force that even the air seemed to explode.
Yu Xiao’s expression changed dramatically as he looked down at his shattered fist, the flesh and bone mangled. His pupils contracted in disbelief.
“Who… who are you?” For the first time since he’d begun his path, Yu Xiao felt fear—this was the strongest opponent he had ever faced.
“Someone you can’t afford to cross,” Mo Han replied, and with a swift twist, broke Yu Xiao’s wrist.
Yu Xiao grunted in pain, terror flooding his heart.
But Mo Han didn’t stop there. With a casual palm, he struck Yu Xiao’s chest.
Yu Xiao spat a mouthful of blood, his face turning deathly pale.
“Go back and tell the Qin family—they’d better not mess with me again, or I’ll make them regret it.”
Without another glance, Mo Han turned and walked back inside.
Yu Xiao watched Mo Han’s retreating figure, a mix of fear and fury in his eyes. In the end, he got to his feet and, dragging his crippled hands, made his way down the mountain.
He was a martial artist; his constitution was far stronger than that of ordinary people. Though his injuries were severe, they weren’t fatal. But he knew full well that after today, his hands were ruined for good. Even if they healed, he would never fight again.
