“They’re all worthless, every damn one of them—one is afraid to die, the other is simply incompetent!”

In the chairman’s office of the Qin Group Tower, Qin Changqing smashed the ashtray against the floor with a loud bang, startling his secretary into silence.

Qin Changqing was furious.

He had struck a deal with Yan Yutang to shut down the pharmaceutical factory. He even spent ten million to hire Xu Biao, a figure from the underworld, to make it happen.

But what happened? Yan Yutang reneged, then signed a hundred-million contract with the factory—an outright slap in the face.

Xu Biao was useless. Even mobilizing the entire Sakura Society, they couldn’t bring the factory down. If that isn’t incompetence, what is?

Ten million wasted was a small matter. The real issue was watching the pharmaceutical factory thrive, seeing Mo Han live well—it left Qin Changqing deeply unsettled.

Qin Haoran’s life was ruined. All his resentment had to be settled with Mo Han.

“Did you prepare what I asked for?” Qin Changqing’s gaze was cold as he looked at the secretary.

“It’s on the way. He said he’d be here in a few minutes,” the secretary replied cautiously.

Qin Changqing lit a cigarette, turned in his chair, and looked out the window.

A mere live-in son-in-law dares to oppose me, the Qin Group? Does he really think I can’t deal with him?

He exhaled smoke, his eyes filled with murderous intent.

It was just a pharmaceutical factory. Even if Yan Yutang betrayed him, even if Xu Biao was incompetent, Qin Changqing had plenty of ways to bring it to ruin.

The secretary answered a call, then left the office, soon returning with an exquisite box.

“Chairman Qin, the item you requested has arrived,” the secretary placed the box on Qin Changqing’s desk.

He glanced at the box, then said to the secretary, “Let Li Xianwu come in now.”

The secretary nodded and left, returning a couple of minutes later with Li Xianwu, who entered the office with a sycophantic smile.

“Chairman Qin,” Li Xianwu greeted him.

Qin Changqing nodded, asking, “Did you handle what I asked for?”

“It’s done, it’s done. I’m just waiting for your next instructions, Chairman Qin,” Li Xianwu replied obsequiously.

“Good. Here’s what I prepared for you—take it,” Qin Changqing indicated the exquisite box on the desk.

“Certainly, I won’t let you down!”

Li Xianwu picked up the box and walked out.

The Li family was in turmoil; the Qin family’s offer was an opportunity Li Xianwu couldn’t afford to miss. Especially after learning Qin Changqing was targeting Mo Han and the pharmaceutical factory, Li Xianwu decided to follow the Qin family loyally.

The business world was unpredictable, storms could strike at any time. For small businessmen like the Li family, the best option was to find a stable tree to lean on; otherwise, they might be blown away by the storm without warning.

In the office of the Director of the Health Bureau, responsible for pharmaceutical safety, Li Xianwu sat on the reception sofa, slowly smoking.

Opposite him sat Director Liu, who was currently reviewing documents with a look of concentration.

“Wasn’t this pharmaceutical factory originally owned by the Li family? Are there really so many procedures left undone, and they just started production?” Director Liu frowned.

“Director Liu can send someone to check,” Li Xianwu smiled.

He had given Director Liu many gifts before; most paperwork was mere formality.

“In that case, I’ll arrange for someone to investigate,” Director Liu nodded.

“I appreciate your trouble, Director Liu. By the way, here’s a top-grade tea I acquired recently. I heard you enjoy tea, so I brought it specially for you,” Li Xianwu said, handing over the exquisite box.

Director Liu’s eyes lit up immediately. He weighed the box in his hands, estimating its contents.

He truly loved tea and had considerable knowledge about it.

“We’re old friends, you don’t need to bring gifts. Is this tea expensive? If it is, I can’t accept it!” Director Liu made a gesture of declining.

“Not expensive, not expensive—just something from the countryside, not worth much,” Li Xianwu said with a smiling face. “It’s good tea; take your time to savor it, Director Liu.”

He stood up. “Director Liu, I’ll take my leave. Once the weekend comes, I’ll make proper arrangements.”

Director Liu saw him out, closed the door, and opened the box for a look. His eyes sparkled.

Top-grade Da Hong Pao from Wuyi Mountain!

And quite a generous amount—clearly, Li Xianwu was making serious efforts to bring down the pharmaceutical factory.

Thinking this, Director Liu sealed the box and tucked it into the drawer under his desk.

“Xiao Xu, I’ve received a report from the public. Go check out Li Pharmaceutical Factory—they’re said to be producing in violation of regulations. If you find solid evidence, you know what to do.”

The first half of the sentence was just for show; the second half was a direct order.

After hanging up, Director Liu squinted with satisfaction.

He was no novice to these matters—usually, he’d turn a blind eye, but if someone pushed, he could make a fuss. If the target knew how to behave, they'd be fined or ordered to rectify. If not, there were plenty of ways to play.

“I hear Li Pharmaceutical Factory is now under the control of Li An’an. I wonder if she knows how things work?”

A lascivious glint flashed in Director Liu’s eyes; he knew many men coveted Li An’an, which meant she must be an exceptional woman.

Mo Han and his companions, under Chen Jianpeng’s arrangements, went to a café.

After booking a private room, they ordered coffee and began discussing the new factory’s plans.

Chen Jianpeng trusted Mo Han’s background, and Mo Han didn’t fuss over minor details, so the negotiations were relaxed. In just over an hour, they finalized the cooperation contract.

But the plan for the new factory took much longer to discuss.

Mostly, everyone listened to Chen Jianpeng’s suggestions.

It had to be said: when it came to business, Mo Han and Li An’an’s minds weren’t as sharp as Chen Jianpeng’s.

In just an hour and a half, Chen Jianpeng had nearly constructed the entire framework for the new factory. Though it was just an outline, everyone knew there wasn’t much left to revise.

Three hours later, they left the café.

Chen Jianpeng and Li Qilang personally drove Mo Han and Li An’an back to the factory.

On the way, Li An’an suddenly received a call from Ma Jiaojiao, her expression changing dramatically.

“What’s wrong?” Mo Han asked.

“People from the Health Bureau are conducting a major inspection at our factory. They claim we’re producing in violation of regulations and want us to suspend operations for rectification,” Li An’an replied.

The factory’s paperwork had always been in order. Suddenly being inspected and accused of missing procedures—even if she were naive, she knew someone was deliberately targeting the pharmaceutical factory.
