Chapter 57: Finally, You Have Arrived
“Master, this is Li Qilang, the son of Li Shujie. He wishes to become your disciple and learn martial arts from you. And this is Chen Jianpeng, heir to the Chen family. He’s here on behalf of his family to discuss a partnership with the pharmaceutical factory. That’s why I’ve brought them to speak with you.”
In the office, Ding Si stood respectfully before Mo Han’s desk. Beside him stood two handsome young men. Of the two, Li Qilang embodied a striking heroism beneath his good looks, while Chen Jianpeng exuded intelligence and poise.
“Greetings, Mr. Mo,” Li Qilang and Chen Jianpeng said, each offering a courteous bow. Both hailed from prominent families and were well-mannered and cultured. From Ding Si, they already had some understanding of Mo Han’s temperament and so treated him with sincere respect.
“You wish to become my disciple?” Mo Han looked at Li Qilang.
“Yes, ever since childhood I’ve been passionate about martial arts, but I’ve lacked a worthy mentor. I hope you will accept me,” Li Qilang replied, anticipation shining in his eyes.
“Master, I’ve seen his foundation. He truly has potential, so...” Ding Si spoke up for Li Qilang.
Mo Han glanced at Ding Si and replied coolly, “Since he’s your friend, I’ll give him a chance to be tested.”
“Thank you, Master!” Ding Si said gratefully. He hadn’t been able to refuse Li Qilang’s request for help and had brought him to try his luck. Now that Mo Han had agreed, he was sincerely thankful.
“Thank you, Master!” Li Qilang was so moved he nearly knelt to perform the formal bow of apprenticeship.
Mo Han waved a hand, saying, “No need to rush. Only those who pass my test are worthy to be my disciples.”
A bit embarrassed, Li Qilang nodded. “Understood.”
Mo Han then turned to Chen Jianpeng. “What sort of cooperation does your family wish to have with my pharmaceutical factory?”
Chen Jianpeng answered directly, “We’re interested in the distribution rights for the Rejuvenation Pill.”
Mo Han appreciated Chen Jianpeng’s frankness but shook his head. “I’ve already granted the distribution rights for the Rejuvenation Pill to Dongjia Group for now. However, if you’re interested, perhaps you’d consider investing in a new project.”
“A new project?” Chen Jianpeng was taken aback, looking to Mo Han for further explanation.
Mo Han smiled faintly. “Yes. I’m about to launch several pills with effects surpassing the Rejuvenation Pill and even greater profit potential. The target clientele is the War Department. You might want to consider it.”
“What kind of pills?” Chen Jianpeng pondered before asking.
“I haven’t fully decided on the details, but they’ll be formulated for warriors—supplied exclusively to the War Department,” Mo Han explained.
Chen Jianpeng knew about Mo Han’s role as chief instructor for the War Department. If Mo Han said the War Department would purchase them, there would be no doubt about the project’s viability. Still, for an investment, he would need to consult his father first.
“If we’re to invest, I need to discuss it with my father,” Chen Jianpeng admitted.
“Very well,” Mo Han nodded.
The three bid farewell and left the office. As they reached their car, they saw two large buses pull up outside the pharmaceutical factory. Over a hundred thugs armed with steel pipes charged toward the building.
Chen Jianpeng’s face paled. He hadn’t expected the underworld factions to be so brazen, attacking a business in broad daylight. He’d heard rumors of recent clashes between the factory and these underground forces, but he hadn’t given them much thought. Now, seeing it firsthand, he realized just how rampant these criminals were.
Would Mr. Mo be able to handle this?
“Damn, Jianpeng, do you think they’re here for us?” Li Qilang asked in surprise.
They had just arrived at the factory when these thugs appeared. The timing was uncanny.
Li Qilang, standing at about 1.75 meters tall, was as neat and attractive as Chen Jianpeng, with a hint of mischief in his eyes. He couldn’t quite understand why these underworld types would suddenly storm in.
“How could that be? We’ve got no quarrel with them, and with your status, who would dare provoke you? That would be suicide. Relax, their target is clearly the factory,” Ding Si sneered, feeling a bit of pity for these thugs. The chief instructor had been waiting for days; only now did they finally show.
The two nodded—they knew perfectly well the thugs were after the factory and were only making conversation. They stood calmly by their car, unafraid. Neither was an ordinary man; even if Xu Biao himself showed up, he wouldn’t dare lay a hand on them.
“Where’s Mo Han? Get out here now, or I’ll smash your company to bits!” Er Gou shouted toward the office, casting a glance at Li Qilang and Chen Jianpeng, surprised but unconcerned. His grudge was with the factory, not its visitors; neither Li Qilang nor Chen Jianpeng would interfere.
At that moment, Mo Han emerged from upstairs, carrying his daughter with Li An’an by his side. Seeing Er Gou and his men, Li An’an’s face turned ashen—she hadn’t expected these thugs to cause trouble again. But recalling Mo Han’s prowess, her fears eased.
Mo Han’s eyes sparkled—he had been waiting for them.
“So, you’ve finally come,” Mo Han strode forward with a cold smile.
“Mr. Mo, would you like me to...” Chen Jianpeng began, offering to help resolve the conflict.
Mo Han waved him off with a laugh, “I’ve been waiting for them. Don’t you go scaring them off for me.”
