Chapter 133: Willing to Fall for You 18

Lin Xuan, returning from a wonderfully sweet date, immediately spotted Huang Ze sitting on the sofa, shrouded in black vapor. The darkness around him had already taken on a solid form.
This is bad, he thought. He had no idea who had been foolish enough to provoke him.
Lin Xuan hesitated, then quietly turned around, intending to leave without disturbing his superior.
“Lin Xuan.”
The angry voice made him halt mid-step. He turned back, scratched his hair, and asked with an ingratiating laugh, “Your Majesty, what happened? Is there someone you want killed? Just tell me his name and I’ll go take care of him right away…”
Huang Ze stared at him without saying a word. He had removed his glasses, and although his face still looked remarkably ordinary, his dark eyes resembled bottomless abysses.
Lin Xuan lowered his head. Throughout Hell, demons and fallen angels alike both revered and feared their sovereign.
“If I remember correctly, you’ve had quite a few lovers?” Huang Ze asked.
Lin Xuan’s head trembled faintly. He had no idea why Huang Ze had suddenly asked such a question, and answered awkwardly, “More or less.”
Every demon in Hell had plenty of lovers.
“If…” Huang Ze began, then stopped.
Lin Xuan pricked up his ears, but no further words came. At last, his master asked, “When you were courting a girl, what did you give her?”
“The female demons of Hell come running if you merely wave at them. As for girls in the human world, people usually give them flowers or little gifts,” Lin Xuan replied.
“Gifts?” Huang Ze looked thoughtful. “Didn’t Anmila go out of her way to choose a gift for you? Bring it here and let me see.”
Lin Xuan was unwilling in every possible way, but he could not defeat His Majesty. He had no choice but to return to his room and fetch the gift Anmila had given him. The box was enormous, and he had been busy all evening and had not had time to open it. He placed it in front of his sovereign.
Huang Ze glanced at the elegantly wrapped box, complete with an enormous pink bow, and said, “Open it.”
Lin Xuan stepped forward. With a stretch of his right hand, sharp claws appeared at his fingertips. Swish—the claws sliced through the box, revealing another box inside. He slashed that one open as well, only to find yet another box.
Finally, after opening the fourth box, he reached a layer of white foam wrapping. Lin Xuan carefully lifted out the thick mass of protective material. Once he had removed all the foam, the gift finally revealed its true form.
Lin Xuan: “…”
Huang Ze: “…”
“Did Le Yixian accompany Anmila when she chose this gift?” Huang Ze asked.
Lin Xuan’s expression became extraordinarily complicated. When he heard that Anmila had spent an entire evening searching for this gift, he did not know whether he ought to feel touched or something else. The gift was simply far too damn special.

“Yes,” Lin Xuan replied.
Huang Ze stared at the gift before him in confusion. “Are human aesthetic tastes in the Eastern world really this unusual?”
“Perhaps,” Lin Xuan said after a moment’s thought. In any case, his little girlfriend had chosen it with all her heart. No matter how strange it was, he could not bring himself to dislike it.
“Where can one buy this?” Huang Ze asked.
“I’ll ask Mira.” As he spoke, Lin Xuan took out his phone.
On Saturday morning, Le Yixian received a message from Anmila saying that she was delighted. Lin Xuan had loved the gift she gave him, and so had his friend after seeing it. He had even asked Lin Xuan to obtain the address from her.
When Le Yixian read the message, the corner of her mouth twitched. She silently wondered whether everyone in this novel truly had such peculiar tastes.
It never occurred to Le Yixian that she herself would become entangled with that bizarre gift.
On Sunday morning, Huang Ze asked her to go to the amusement park with him.
When she reached the agreed meeting place, Le Yixian saw Huang Ze from a distance, sitting on a bench with a large box in his arms as he waited for her. The box looked vaguely familiar, but she did not give it much thought. She greeted him, “Hi. You’re early.”
Huang Ze raised his head and looked at her. Le Yixian was still wearing her glasses today, but instead of her usual school uniform, she had put on denim shorts and a yellow T-shirt. Her hair was tied up, and with a small backpack on her shoulders and sneakers on her feet, she looked youthful and full of energy.
Huang Ze’s gaze lingered for several seconds on her fair, slender thighs before he answered, “I just got here too.”
As he spoke, he held out the large box in his arms. “It’s for you.”
“Hmm? Thank you.” Le Yixian was somewhat surprised. She accepted the large box and found that, despite its size, it was very light.
“Open it and have a look,” Huang Ze said gently.
Le Yixian nodded and sat down beside him. Huang Ze immediately handed her a small knife.
With a knife, things were much easier.
Le Yixian opened the first layer and found another box inside. She opened the second layer, only to find another box as well.
She began to feel uneasy. Her subconscious told her that this style of packaging seemed familiar, but she could not remember where she had seen it before.
At last, she reached the layer wrapped in white foam. Her heart gave a sudden lurch as she finally remembered something.
“What’s wrong?” Huang Ze asked when he saw her hands stop moving.

Le Yixian desperately tried to lift the corners of her mouth while secretly praying that her adorable sweetheart had not given her that sort of thing.
She peeled away the white foam layer by layer.
At last, the gift was revealed.
It was a resin crystal swan ornament. Two swans with outstretched wings curved their necks together to form a crystal heart, and several large words had been engraved in the center with a laser:
Le Yixian, I like you.
Le Yixian’s expression became exceedingly complicated. A hand reached out before her, presenting the gift like a precious treasure.
“It can play music too. Listen.”
Beneath the crystal ornament’s base was a black button. The moment it was pressed, a loud song began to play:
“I love you, I love you, just like a mouse loves rice…”
Passersby turned their attention toward the two people on the bench.
Smack. Le Yixian immediately switched off the music.
“Do you like it?” Huang Ze asked, looking at her.
Le Yixian wanted to ask, How could you possibly have bought a gift like this?
But then she saw the eager anticipation in his eyes behind his glasses. She tightened her grip on the crystal ornament, raised the corners of her mouth, and said, “I… I like it. How amazing. It can even sing.”
Huang Ze nodded. “I’m glad you like it. The shopkeeper said there are five more songs inside. Whenever you want to listen, you can play them one after another.”
He thought to himself that the aesthetic tastes of Eastern humans were indeed somewhat different from those of the West.
“…”
Le Yixian felt that she could no longer maintain her expression. She said, “Let’s go to the amusement park.”
Huang Ze had already bought the tickets. However, carrying the crystal ornament around would be inconvenient, so after paying the storage fee, the two of them placed it in the luggage room.
The amusement park was especially crowded on Sunday, filled with bustling streams of people coming and going.
Just as Le Yixian was struggling to decide where they should go first, Anmila’s voice sounded from behind them.
“Huh? Yixian, you came here to have fun too?”
