Chapter 040: The Coolness of Autumn, The King’s Downfall 6
Ouyang Zining stared at the “toys” scattered on the carpet without moving.
Huangfu Lie, who had been watching her closely, couldn’t help but speak up. “Hurry up and throw those things out.”
“Sir, I am not housekeeping. If you need someone to tidy up your room, you can press the button by the door.” Ouyang Zining quietly stepped back.
She was a proper young lady and had no intention of touching those strange items.
“What did you say?” Huangfu Lie was furious. It was bad enough that someone had seen these things—now she wanted him to call housekeeping?
Did she think he didn’t know? If he had the cleaning lady come up today, by tomorrow he’d be a legend at the Alice Hotel.
Besides, Alice had always been the archenemy of his family’s hotel chain—even if it was only one-sided. There was no way he could let his rival get evidence of his embarrassment.
“I said, you can have housekeeping come deal with it for you.” Ouyang Zining glanced at the CEO with a trace of pity in her eyes. Why was his hearing so poor?
“I’ll give you a thousand yuan to handle these things discreetly,” Huangfu Lie offered after a moment’s thought.
Ouyang Zining’s eyes lit up instantly. “Deal!”
Seeing how readily she agreed, Huangfu Lie suddenly regretted it. He should have offered this brazen woman only five hundred.
“I don’t have cash on me—I’ll write you a check.”
Ouyang Zining looked at him as if he were joking and pulled out her phone. “No checks. Aside from cash, I accept transfers through X-Pay or Z-Pay.”
A check had to be cashed at the bank—did he think she was stupid? What if he later denied the payment and told the bank to void the check?
“I have X-Pay. It can transfer money?” The CEO took out his smartphone, a bit bewildered.
“Give it here,” Ouyang Zining said, taking the phone from his hand. Her fingers moved swiftly, and the transfer was completed in no time.
“Now that you’ve got your money, hurry up and get rid of those things,” Huangfu Lie said, pointing at the items on the floor.
“No problem, just a moment.” Delighted with her earnings, Ouyang Zining bent down to pick them up.
She wore the kitchen uniform from the Alice: black trousers, little leather shoes, a white shirt, and a white apron tied at the waist. As she bent over, her shapely figure was accentuated.
She seems quite curvy, Huangfu Lie thought to himself, noticing a strange heat rising in his body. The air was thick with a sweet, cloying scent.
That woman must have done something to him! Huangfu Lie frowned, convinced. Watching Ouyang Zining suddenly crouch down and freeze, he said, “Hurry up and finish, and get out.”
Ouyang Zining remained motionless on the floor.
Huangfu Lie felt himself growing hotter. He walked over just as Ouyang Zining picked up a pink whip. Impatiently, he said, “Hey, did you hear—”
Before he could finish, Ouyang Zining looked up at him with a mischievous grin, then pounced. Caught off guard, he was knocked to the carpet.
Even with the thick wool rug, his head hit the floor with a thud.
“What the hell are you doing?” Huangfu Lie struggled, surprised by how strong this petite woman was.
In his struggle, his robe came open, revealing broad, muscled flesh.
“Well, well, not bad. How much for a night?” Ouyang Zining, her reason lost under the influence of the drug, nearly drooled at the sight of his physique and reached out to grab him.
“What the—? This is harassment—you can’t just grope me like that!” Huangfu Lie was furious, his usually imposing face turning bright red.
“Oh, don’t be shy. I just made a fool pay me tonight—stick around, and I’ll split it with you.”
“Who wants your half? Let go—damn it!”
“Hehehe!”
“Don’t get any ideas, or I’ll… I’ll eat you alive.”
“Go ahead, try!”
“Hey, where are your hands going? Get off me, you crazy woman—mmph…”
A night of passion unfolded, sensual and wild.
The domineering and cool CEO suffered a grievous blow to his pride that night.
Though, he had to admit—it wasn’t half bad…
The next morning, the wronged CEO awoke to find himself alone.
The messy bed was all that remained of the night’s escapade.
Huangfu Lie sat up and looked around, relieved not to see the unusually strong woman anywhere.
Then he noticed a note on the bedside table: “You should replenish your strength.”
Damn it, what was that supposed to mean?
Fuming, the CEO stormed into the bathroom for a shower. Afterward, wearing only a towel, he searched the presidential suite for something, but came up empty-handed.
“Damn, I was swindled!” Huangfu Lie cursed, teeth clenched. Where was his promised share of the money?
So this was proof—women were all bad news!
At the Huangfu family breakfast table.
Huangfu Shang picked up a steaming meat bun, blew on it, and took a huge bite, closing his eyes in satisfaction as he chewed.
At that moment, the door opened and his cousin entered, face thunderous.
Thinking his cousin might be hungry, he called out, “Brother, come have breakfast!”
Huangfu Lie was in a foul mood. After a long, exhausting night and that infuriating note in the morning, he was starving. He sat down, his expression still dark.
The butler, quick on the uptake, served him a steaming bowl of porridge.
The moment Huangfu Lie saw what it was, his mood worsened. “Who told you to make oyster porridge?” he demanded, voice tinged with anger.
“Brother, I did,” Huangfu Shang replied, still chewing his bun.
“Take it away. I don’t want it.” Just the sight of oysters made him feel off. He didn’t need ‘replenishing’—it was just one night.
“Then have a bun—today’s are especially good,” Huangfu Shang offered, passing him a plump meat bun.
Huangfu Lie took a bite, then paused. “What’s with this filling? Why’s it chive and pork?”
The butler stammered, “The kitchen bought chives today. Young Master Shang asked for meat buns, so Aunt Li made them with chives.”
A vein throbbed on Huangfu Lie’s forehead. He forced himself to finish the bun, remembering the family rule against wasting food.
“Want another?” Huangfu Shang asked.
“No.” Huangfu Lie refused firmly, then called his secretary. “Secretary Situ, prepare an acquisition plan. The weather’s getting cold—let Wang’s go bankrupt.”
