Chapter 005: Campus Mary Sue 3
Having found this book, Le Yixian understood even more clearly the circumstances of Ke Yuandao’s world of consciousness.
In the book, she was a vicious supporting character, the eldest daughter of the second-ranked prestigious family in the world, with three overly protective brothers, and engaged to Felton Dickens Lan Poseidon Zeus Florio An Xiensi, the heir of the top-ranked family and the male protagonist.
She had grown up showered in affection, beautiful, with seven-colored hair and a pair of blue eyes. Her personality was domineering and unreasonable, and her body constitution was such that she did not eat ordinary food, only mountain spring water and fresh flowers.
She was also deeply in love with her fiancé. When Felton Dickens Lan Poseidon Zeus Florio An Xiensi fell for the female protagonist, a top student disguised as a boy, she began to spiral out of control. Unintentionally, she somehow helped the male and female leads deepen their feelings.
Eventually, after provoking the male lead, her family suffered irreparable losses.
The eldest daughter and her three brothers moved from their extravagant villa to a house smaller than her bathroom, and finally, she died of an allergic reaction after eating flowers sprayed with pesticide.
This manner of death was well received by readers at the time.
Now, Le Yixian only felt her teeth ache—what a way to die.
“This is what they call ‘reaping what you sow,’” Li Yue remarked coolly from the side.
“Do I have to follow the plot of the book?” Le Yixian asked.
Li Yue hesitated and shook her head, “That depends on him!”
The owner of this consciousness world—Ke Yuandao.
Returning to the consciousness world, Le Yixian sat in the classroom.
She looked at the white desks edged with gold, the classroom walls covered in golden patterns and embedded with crystal gems of every color. She pressed her forehead in helplessness. Thankfully, her seat was by the window—she couldn’t stand the nouveau riche atmosphere of this classroom, but at least she could look at the thriving greenery outside.
Class had not yet started. Le Yixian sat at her desk, bored. The school-famous H4 group surrounded her seat, and the legendary male lead sat to her left.
Le Yixian had once hoped Ke Yuandao would be in this group, but after observing carefully, she realized the other three boys with their flamboyant hairstyles looked familiar—perhaps the owner of this world had casually inserted the looks of his acquaintances or colleagues.
Outside the corridor, many students peeked into the classroom, likely hoping to catch a glimpse of the infamous school bully’s fiancée.
She could vaguely hear exclamations like “so beautiful,” “gorgeous,” “stunning,” and so on.
Le Yixian found this particularly unsettling.
She was indeed beautiful, but such blunt compliments were hard to handle.
Suddenly, Le Yixian sensed an intense gaze. She turned her head, but saw nothing.
“That brat, I’ll teach him a lesson!” The male lead with the ridiculously long name muttered angrily beside her.
Le Yixian looked at the boy with sympathy. As the female lead’s creator, she knew all too well—the readers’ favorite comment under her stories was directed at all her male leads: “Chasing after your wife is like a crematorium!”
The more miserable the male lead made the female lead, the more pitiful he would be in the future.
Le Yixian stroked her chin. No matter what, she had to find the owner of this world.
Yet, days passed as Le Yixian wandered around the school, and she never saw Ke Yuandao.
If not for occasionally sensing that intense, familiar gaze, she might have believed Ke Yuandao was not in the school at all.
That day, the four H4 boys were causing trouble for the female lead again, and Le Yixian didn’t intend to interfere. Besides, every time those four ignorant boys tried to bully someone, the female lead—having grown up among ordinary folk—would always turn the tables, leaving the four, used to smooth sailing, questioning their own existence. Thus, they became curious about her, and the beautiful yet tragic campus love story began.
Le Yixian wandered through the campus and discovered the library in a secluded corner. She went inside, took a stroll, and immediately sensed that familiar gaze behind her.
She smiled to herself—let’s see how long you can keep staring.
She quickly turned a corner, hiding behind a bookshelf.
The person behind her sped up.
Hearing hurried footsteps, Le Yixian grabbed a book from the shelf and walked directly toward the source.
“Bang!” The two collided.
Le Yixian felt a sharp pain in her chin.
“Sorry… so sorry!!!” came a panicked voice.
Le Yixian stared at the boy in front of her. He wore the school uniform of Alston, was a head shorter than her, and though she noticed little else, she recognized the familiar face and voice, making her nose sting—finally, she had found him.
Seeing her almost tearful expression, Ke Yuandao’s face was flustered. “Sorry… are you alright?”
Le Yixian felt amused and sniffed, “It hurts!”
“Let me take a look,” Ke Yuandao said cautiously, seeing her reddened chin.
Le Yixian nodded, and the two sat at a desk by the library.
“It’s a bit red. I’ll go get some medicinal wine!” With that, Ke Yuandao dashed off.
“Ah…” Le Yixian barely had time to stop him before he disappeared.
He wouldn’t just run away like that, would he? Le Yixian rested her chin in her hand, pondering quietly.
Soon, she heard hurried footsteps again. Turning her head, she saw Ke Yuandao return, sweating, carrying a medical kit.
“Let me apply some medicine for you?” His voice was still cautious, laced with a barely detectable affection.
Le Yixian nodded, lifting her chin to indicate he could proceed.
Ke Yuandao took a cotton swab, dipped it in medicine, and carefully applied it to her chin.
The girl with seven-colored hair reclined in her chair, chin slightly raised. As the medicine touched her reddened chin, Ke Yuandao’s hand trembled, and his movements accidentally became a bit too forceful. He immediately apologized.
Le Yixian opened her eyes, the blue irises full of laughter and teasing. “Am I that fierce?”
Ke Yuandao was baffled: “???”
“If I’m not fierce, then why do you keep apologizing?” Le Yixian smiled as she stared at him.
“No… no,” Ke Yuandao’s ears reddened under her gaze, and he lowered his head to look at his shoes.
This reminded Le Yixian of their first encounter—Ke Yuandao, whom she had unintentionally rescued in middle school, was always an easily shy boy.
He only gradually changed after entering high school, and by university, his face was thicker than a chopping board. It was precisely that shamelessness that enabled him to win Le Yixian’s heart.
“Do you like me?” Rarely seeing the shy Ke Yuandao again, Le Yixian felt playful.
“I…” Ke Yuandao lifted his head, flustered.
“Don’t like me?”
“I… I do!” His voice was barely above a whisper, but Le Yixian heard it.
