Chapter 148: You want me to sever my own arm?
"Handover? What handover?" Li An'an was stunned.
They had only just built this new factory. What handover was there to speak of, and with whom?
"They claim the factory premises belong to them." Ma Jiaojiao sounded distressed, her voice thick with tears. She had been Li An'an's assistant from the very beginning, and it had been an arduous journey to build the pharmaceutical plant to where it stood today. She had not expected that just as things had finally settled down, a new crisis would emerge.
"Let's adjourn the meeting for now," Li An'an said, walking toward the door. "Jiaojiao, take me to see them." Her expression was grim; she wanted to see exactly who was coming to stir up trouble. Fortunately, Mo Han was also at the new factory today, so she felt no fear.
Once out of the conference room, Ma Jiaojiao led Li An'an to the reception area. Inside, Zhou Hua and his men were sitting comfortably, as if they were in their own company, nonchalantly pouring tea for themselves.
"Who are you people?" Li An'an asked, frowning deeply.
Zhou Hua looked up at Li An'an, a flash of admiration crossing his eyes, though he quickly reverted to his usual thuggish demeanor. He pulled out a contract and handed it to her. "Li Xianwu has sold the entire Li family estate to us, including both the old and new pharmaceutical plants."
"Bullshit!" Ma Jiaojiao snapped. The pharmaceutical plant had long since severed all ties with the Li family; these people were clearly just looking for trouble.
"Little girl, I advise you to watch your mouth, or you might regret it when something happens to you tonight," Zhou Hua said, his gaze leering wantonly over Ma Jiaojiao, filled with malicious greed.
Ma Jiaojiao’s face paled. Zhou Hua’s look frightened her, and she retreated behind Li An'an, not daring to say another word.
"The Li family is the Li family, and the pharmaceutical plant is the pharmaceutical plant. They have nothing to do with each other. You have made a mistake," Li An'an said, suppressing her anger.
"It’s all written in black and white. Take a good look for yourself. It clearly states that the Li estate includes the entire pharmaceutical plant. Denying it won't help you." Zhou Hua glared at Li An'an with a sinister look and threatened, "If you're smart, leave immediately. The plant is ours now, or don't blame us for being impolite."
"I told you, the plant has no connection to the Li family. If you continue to harass us, don't blame me for calling the police!" Li An'an said sternly.
"Heh? Calling the police? Go ahead," Zhou Hua laughed mockingly, unfazed. "The contract is written clearly. It was signed by the head of the Li family himself, Li Xianwu. We aren't afraid of any legal disputes."
Li An'an’s expression shifted dramatically. The new factory was about to go into production, and all the workers were in place. If they were dragged into a lawsuit, the factory would have to shut down, which would result in massive losses and tarnish their reputation.
"You are nothing but thugs!" Li An'an flushed with anger.
"Thugs?" Zhou Hua laughed heartily. "Yes, we are thugs. Ms. Li, right? You’re quite a beauty. Why don't you stay and be my secretary? How about double your current salary?" He smiled, his eyes tracing her figure with unabashed greed.
"Ms. Li," several security guards walked in at that moment.
"Get them out of here," Li An'an commanded bluntly. These people were clearly here to cause trouble, and if she gave in to them, all their hard work would be delayed.
Without a word, the guards approached Zhou Hua and his men. Zhou Hua’s face twisted into a mocking sneer. They wanted to fight? They clearly hadn't checked who they were dealing with.
"Please leave," the guards said, reaching out to escort them.
*Bam! Bam! Bam!*
Before Zhou Hua even had to move, his underlings effortlessly knocked the security guards to the ground. Li An'an was shocked; she hadn't expected them to be so skilled in combat. She knew these guards had been personally selected by Mo Han, yet the intruders proved far stronger.
"Take them away, and shut down the factory," Zhou Hua said, casting a greedy glance at Li An'an. "If you don't cooperate with the handover, then you're finished."
His underlings moved to grab Li An'an.
"What are you doing?" Li An'an panicked, having never encountered a situation like this before. Li Xianwu must have gone insane; to drag the pharmaceutical plant into his mess, he had actually sold out the entire Li family business. It was absurd that he would do something so self-destructive just to spite her.
"Daring to lay a hand on my sister-in-law? You're courting death!"
At that moment, Li Qilang walked in. He had come looking for Mo Han and was furious to find such a scene unfolding.
"Kid, you've got a big mouth," Zhou Hua remarked, eyeing the furious Li Qilang with derision.
"Whether my mouth is big or not, you'll find out soon enough," Li Qilang retorted. He stepped forward and struck.
"Damn it, tired of liv—" before the underling could finish his sentence, Li Qilang slapped him across the room.
The others lunged at Li Qilang.
*Bam! Bam! Bam!*
Before they could even get close, they were all sent flying by Li Qilang. Zhou Hua narrowed his eyes; Li Qilang’s skill made him cautious. These men were seasoned fighters who had been through thick and thin with him, yet they had been dispatched with single slaps.
"Kid, you've got moves. Break your own arm, and I'll let this slide today!" Zhou Hua glared at him.
"You want me to break my own arm?" Li Qilang scoffed. "You don't have the qualifications!"
He lunged toward Zhou Hua. Zhou Hua's expression darkened. He was a notorious tough guy in Chu City and was infuriated that a mere bodyguard like Li Qilang dared to attack him. In his eyes, Li Qilang was nothing more than Li An'an's bodyguard, someone beneath his notice. He had crippled plenty of bodyguards over the years.
*Boom!*
As their fists collided, Zhou Hua realized he had made a grave mistake. The force behind Li Qilang’s punch was far beyond his imagination, sending him reeling backward. Li Qilang had natural talent and had been personally taught by Mo Han; his cultivation had long since surpassed that of Xu Jing and the others. His current strength was on par with the likes of Fifth Master and Ba Dao.
Before Zhou Hua could regain his footing, Li Qilang surged forward again, aiming a punch at his chest. Zhou Hua’s face paled, and he rolled to the side to dodge the blow, leaping straight out through the window.
Li Qilang moved to pursue him, but Li An'an shook her head. "Forget it, don't chase him."
"Understood, sister-in-law." Li Qilang nodded. He glanced out the window at the fleeing Zhou Hua, then turned to the security guards and said, "Take these guys to the training grounds."
The guards nodded and led the prisoners away. Just then, Li An'an's phone rang; it was a call from Li Xianwu.
