Chapter 150: Spare His Life
Li Xiande and Xu Fang were unceremoniously hauled out and tossed into the courtyard by a group of thugs. The impact left them both in excruciating pain, and they were trembling with fury.
"If you don't want to suffer any more, get lost right now," Li Xianren said, stepping out and looking down at the two sprawled on the ground with a mocking sneer.
"Li Xianren, you are nothing but a beast! You'll be struck by lightning for this!" Xu Fang shrieked.
"Slap her," Li Xianren said, his face darkening as he let out a cold snort.
One of his underlings stepped forward and delivered two sharp slaps across Xu Fang's face. Xu Fang screamed, but she dared not utter another word against Li Xianren. The thug then turned to strike Li Xiande.
Just then, Mo Han’s car pulled into the yard. He slammed on the brakes, threw open the door, and leaped out in a single motion.
"Stop!"
Mo Han’s voice rang out like a thunderclap as he surged forward like an arrow released from a bow. The thug had barely raised his hand when Mo Han caught it in a vice-like grip.
*Crack!*
The sound of shattering bone echoed through the air. The thug let out a blood-curdling howl as Mo Han snapped his right hand. With a follow-up strike, Mo Han sent the man flying through the air.
"You're courting death!"
The remaining thugs, seeing this, lunged toward Mo Han. Mo Han didn't even look at them. He lifted his left leg and, with a few swift, precise kicks, sent them all sprawling.
"Dad, Mom, are you alright?" Mo Han bent down to help Li Xiande and Xu Fang up. Seeing the slap mark on Xu Fang’s cheek, a flash of murderous intent crossed his eyes.
Initially, Xu Fang had been critical of him, but after he resolved the drug poisoning incident for Li An'an, she had treated him with genuine kindness, often making sure to cook the dishes he liked. In his heart, Mo Han had come to regard her as a mother. That Li Xianren had dared to have her slapped filled him with uncontrollable rage.
"We're fine, but if you had arrived any later, we wouldn't even have our home left," Xu Fang said, her voice filled with pain.
"Mom, did they say this villa belongs to them now?" Li An'an asked as she stepped out of the car.
"Yes," Xu Fang replied. "They claimed Li Xianwu sold this villa to them."
Mo Han’s expression grew even more ominous as he turned his gaze toward Li Xianren, his eyes burning with lethal intent.
"So, you are Li Xianren!" Mo Han said, his voice icy.
"Boy, I was just about to go looking for you, but you’ve delivered yourself to your own funeral—it saves me the trouble," Li Xianren said, recognizing him immediately. He had promised Li Xianwu he would kill Mo Han, and he had no intention of breaking that vow.
"Just you?"
Mo Han didn't waste another word. He moved, his speed blinding. He was in front of Li Xianren in an instant. He had no desire to exchange pleasantries with an enemy.
Seeing Mo Han charge, Li Xianren flew into a rage. Even in a major metropolis like Chuandu, no one had ever dared to attack him like this.
"Since you’re in such a hurry to die, I’ll grant your wish!"
Li Xianren snorted and threw a powerful punch. He was a master of internal energy, and his blow was so forceful it seemed to shatter the air itself. Had that punch landed on Mo Han, it might have pierced right through him.
Xu Fang and the others watched with alarm. While they knew Mo Han was a skilled fighter, they had never seen anyone capable of striking with such explosive force. They broke into a cold sweat for him.
"Be careful!" Li An'an and Xu Fang cried out in unison, just as Mo Han raised a hand and caught Li Xianren’s fist.
*Crack!*
Caught in Mo Han’s grip, the fist couldn't advance a single inch further. Li Xianren’s face drained of color, and fear crept into his eyes. As an internal energy expert, he knew his own strength. He had never encountered a true rival in Chuandu. Yet, here, a mere son-in-law possessed internal energy several times stronger than his own. It was chilling. He exerted every ounce of his strength, desperate to pull his hand from Mo Han’s grasp.
*Crunch!*
Instead of breaking free, his entire fist was crushed under the sheer force of Mo Han’s grip.
"Aaaah!" Li Xianren wailed, his body trembling as cold sweat beaded on his forehead.
The three women were horrified. Li Xianren’s right hand had been pulverized by Mo Han, leaving it a mangled, bloody mess. They had never witnessed such brutality. Mo Han was far more powerful than they had imagined. Could even Li Xianren, the king of the Chuandu underworld, offer no resistance before him?
"My parents are people you dare to strike?" Mo Han growled. He didn't stop; he reached out and grabbed Li Xianren’s entire right arm.
*Crack!*
Li Xianren’s arm was twisted like a rag doll; not even a miracle worker could mend it now. Xu Fang felt as if her heart might jump out of her chest. Today, Mo Han was truly terrifying.
"You!"
Li Xianren screamed, his body shaking uncontrollably; the destruction of his arm had left the entire right side of his body numb. Yet, he didn't give up. He launched a desperate, low kick toward Mo Han’s groin—a final, lightning-fast sneak attack.
But Mo Han was faster. He kicked Li Xianren’s left knee, and with another sickening *crack*, the bone shattered. Li Xianren collapsed to the ground, his eyes wide with terror.
Mo Han didn't stop there; he stepped down onto Li Xianren’s other leg. His cold, piercing gaze made Li Xianren tremble. He had never felt such fear, nor had he ever been so utterly helpless. Even his own master didn't seem as monstrously terrifying as Mo Han.
Mo Han stood over him, looking down with disdain. "A piece of trash like you dares to come to my home and cause trouble?"
The courtyard fell into a deathly silence. Even Li Xianren didn't dare to breathe. Mo Han’s eyes were too frightening. Li Xianren was a ruthless man—he was notorious for it in Chuandu—but it was clear that the man before him was far more ruthless and domineering.
Looking at the lethal intent in Mo Han’s eyes, Li Xianren was afraid.
"Li Xiande, do you remember when we were kids, and you were getting beaten up, and I jumped in to help? I even got my head bloodied for you... Even though we aren't close anymore, we were bullied by Li Xianwu together, we plotted against him together... Can you really just discard all our brotherhood and let your son-in-law kill me?" Li Xianren looked at Li Xiande, knowing his brother’s soft heart. He knew that if he didn't beg Li Xiande, Mo Han would surely kill him.
Indeed, at Li Xianren’s words, Li Xiande’s expression shifted. His face showed pain, a mix of nostalgia and regret. Back then, both he and Li Xianren had been adopted by Li Zhendong, and as children, they had been as close as blood brothers. If not for how Li Xianren had changed, he believed their bond would have remained strong.
"Li Xiande, my legs and my right arm are broken, I’m a cripple now, destined to spend the rest of my life in a hospital bed. Since I’m already like this, do you still refuse to let me go?" Li Xianren pleaded pathetically.
Li Xiande’s expression shifted again. Looking at the broken man before him, he found he couldn't bring himself to be heartless.
"Mo Han, spare his life," Li Xiande sighed. "After all... he is my brother."
