Chapter 163: Fighting for a Parking Space
Chuanwu Yang Group.
"Young Master Yang, Li An'an has already accepted the invitation and agreed to attend this exchange conference." A smartly dressed young man in a tailored business suit looked respectfully at Yang Ling sitting in the president's chair.
"Good." Yang Ling nodded with satisfaction, leaning back into his leather executive chair.
He had single-handedly organized this upcoming exchange conference.
A mere pharmaceutical factory from a small city like Qiancheng actually dared to come to Chuanwu to vie for territory—something he would never allow.
As the designated heir to the next generation of the Yang family, Yang Ling was the most outstanding among the younger generation.
His intellect, strategic mind, ambition, and even his ruthless methods were beyond the reach of his peers.
Not to mention, he was blessed with striking good looks. In this era where appearance was everything, very few women could resist his charm.
His objective for this occasion was crystal clear.
"I want that small pharmaceutical company, and I also want Li An'an, the reigning beauty of Qiancheng!"
The rapid growth of Minor Pharmaceuticals had naturally attracted considerable attention. Especially since it encroached upon his own domain, Yang Ling had kept a particularly close eye on it.
And when he discovered that Li An'an happened to be an absolute stunner, his heart grew even more restless.
"Young Master Yang, given how fast Minor Pharmaceuticals is growing, I'm afraid there might be someone powerful supporting them from behind the scenes," the suited young man cautiously reminded him.
"Which successful person hasn't crossed paths with a few benefactors?"
Yang Ling saw right through it. "But a benefactor is called a benefactor precisely because they will, at most, offer you a helping hand without investing too much of themselves."
"Especially the heavyweights—they certainly won't lower themselves to enter the arena personally."
Having been immersed in this world since childhood, he understood these dynamics implicitly.
Those influential figures already possessed fame, fortune, and prestige; even if they patronized someone, it was done purely on a whim.
If there truly were an exceptionally intimate relationship, Minor Pharmaceuticals could never have started its rise from a tiny city like Qiancheng.
"I've heard that the changes in Qiancheng have been dramatic, and that's largely tied to Minor Pharmaceuticals. We can't afford to be careless."
"By the way, rumor has it that the underground circles of Chuanwu were wiped out by a ruthless figure from Qiancheng. If the person behind Minor Pharmaceuticals happens to be that exact ruthless individual, we must be even more cautious," the young man added.
Yang Ling turned his head to glance at Fan Ming, the subordinate who had followed him for several years, and frowned slightly. "Do you think I need your reminders?"
"I'm sorry, Young Master Yang."
Startled, the young man lowered his head in haste.
"Just focus on doing your own job well," Yang Ling said with a cold snort.
"Understood."
Fan Ming cupped his hands in acquiescence, daring not to say another word.
He knew Yang Ling's temperament and personality all too well. A couple of words of warning were acceptable, but saying too much would only provoke his annoyance.
This wasn't the first time Yang Ling had pulled such a stunt, and he had almost never failed. However, this time, his target was Minor Pharmaceuticals from Qiancheng.
He had investigated the company thoroughly, though without turning up much useful intelligence.
Yet, a company capable of marching forward triumphantly in Qiancheng—a place the major northern factions referred to as the forbidden zone of the underground world—undoubtedly possessed formidable backing.
In particular, when he tried pulling some strings behind the scenes, he realized that Minor Pharmaceuticals was far from simple. Yet, any attempt to dig deeper led to dead ends.
He had a feeling that the confidentiality surrounding Minor Pharmaceuticals was tighter than that maintained by many aristocratic clans in the northern provinces.
At the very least, if he wanted to investigate many northern enterprises, he could still unearth a considerable amount of useful data.
It was precisely because of this capability that Yang Ling always kept him close as a strategic advisor.
Intuition told Fan Ming that his young master's campaign against Minor Pharmaceuticals might not go as smoothly as he anticipated.
Even if the truth remained elusive, exercising caution could never be wrong.
However, an arrogant and conceited person like Yang Ling simply refused to listen.
"Alright, you don't need to attend tonight's cocktail party. Speed up the operations on that other front."
Yang Ling stood up, shed his jacket, and walked toward the office door. "Within a month at most, I want to ensure that not a single soul in the capital of Xichuan Province is willing to cooperate with Minor Pharmaceuticals."
"Yes!" Fan Ming acknowledged.
After leaving the office, Yang Ling drove straight back to his family's villa.
He took a shower, spritzed on some cologne, and meticulously groomed himself from head to toe.
Surveying his almost flawlessly proportioned reflection in the mirror, Yang Ling curved his lips into a confident smirk.
"Li An'an, you won't escape the palm of my hand!"
He was determined to swallow up Minor Pharmaceuticals, and as for Li An'an, he had no intention of letting her go either. He had yet to taste such a unique woman.
Having changed into a fresh outfit, Yang Ling ordered his chauffeur to drive him to the banquet.

Meanwhile, Li An'an was also making preparations to attend the exchange conference.
She had slipped into an evening gown that perfectly accentuated her graceful curves, transforming her into the very image of Snow White.
"Wife, you look breathtaking," Mo Han couldn't help praising from the side.
"Flatterer." Li An'an shot him a playful glance, though her heart felt as sweet as honey.
Who wouldn't want to be showered with compliments by the man they loved?
After applying a light touch of makeup, Mo Han escorted Li An'an toward the venue of the banquet.
At the hotel entrance, Ma Jiaojiao was already waiting.
Seeing Li An'an step out of the car—this being the first time she had ever witnessed her boss in formal evening wear—Ma Jiaojiao was instantly captivated by her aura.
"Director Li, you look stunning. Brother Han is truly blessed," Ma Jiaojiao praised.
Li An'an smiled and said, "Let's go inside first. He'll park the car and join us shortly."
At that moment, Mo Han's vehicle was blocked by another car ahead, forcing him to wait until the driver ahead finished parking before he could move forward.
The car in front finally cleared out. Mo Han drove forward, spotted an open parking space, and was about to slide into it when the driver of a Maybach following right behind him stuck his head out and barked, "I'm taking this spot!"
Caring little for the commotion, Mo Han directly maneuvered his Audi A8 into the slot.
"I saw this parking space first! Move your damn car!" the Maybach driver glared furiously at Jiang Li, looking utterly vicious.
Mo Han stepped out of the car, slammed the door shut with a loud thud, gave the Maybach driver a sideways glance, and muttered, "Moron."
"What the hell did you just say?" The driver's expression darkened as he stepped out to block Jiang Li's path.
In Chuanwu, absolutely no one had ever dared to snatch a parking spot from him.
"I said, you're a moron."
Mo Han looked at the driver and asked, "Are you satisfied now?"
"You're fucking looking for a death wish!" The driver swung a vicious slap straight toward Mo Han's face.
Although he was merely a chauffeur, he had cut his teeth in the underground circles.
Moreover, his master was none other than the young master of the Yang family. Accustomed to riding the coattails of his powerful boss in Chuanwu, even ordinary scions of aristocratic families had to grant him a modicum of respect and speak to him with polite deference.
Mo Han looked every bit like an out-of-towner; how dare he hurl insults? Wasn't this asking for a beating?
Unfortunately, the moment his hand swung through the air, his wrist was intercepted in a tight grip by Mo Han.
Mo Han gave it a swift twist, and the driver let out a piercing shriek of agony.
"Let go! Let me go right now, you bastard, or I'll fucking kill you!" the driver threatened through waves of pain.
Mo Han's expression chilled. With an extra surge of force, he forcefully dislocated the driver's wrist.
"Even a chauffeur dares to be this arrogant. It seems your master isn't much of a good person either," Mo Han said coldly.
